Discuss prospective investment projects in the format of Public-Private Partnership

With the purpose to discuss prospective investment projects in the format of Public-Private Partnership, as well as to consider the proposals for the implementation of projects of this type according to the "Build-Operate-Transfer" model, also to inform the local executive authorities about state support mechanisms, the Director of the PPP Development Center of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency Anar Salmanov and the Head of the Center's Department of Support for the Development and Implementation of PPP projects Hamlet Ismayilov visited Ganja city, Dashkasan, Shamkir and Gadabay regions on June 20-21, 2022. 

 

During the visit, the delegation of the PPP Development Center held business meetings with the head of the Tovuz District Executive Power Mr. Mammad Mammadov, the head of the Agstafa District Executive Power Mr. Seymur Orujov, and the head of the Gazakh District Executive Power Mr. Rajab Babashov.

Within the framework of the meetings there had been presented detailed information about the activities of the PPP Development Center and the PPP model, as well as the need to expand the applying of PPP mechanisms as one of the important elements of the economic development strategy.

 

It was also reported that the Small and Medium Business Development Agency within its field conducts educational activities, trainings and seminars, the same way forms an inter-institutional network platform, provides communication and exchange of experience in order to implement PPP projects that meet global trends. 

 

In the form of state-business partnership, by local executive authorities  were presented and discussed most requiring investment priority projects such as: ı) waste management and disposal; ıı) construction of refrigeration complexes; ııı) construction of dormitory buildings for higher education institutions; ıv) projects related to processing and preservation of agricultural products; v) construction and management of regional logistics centers; vı) construction and management of winter-summer tourism complexes; vıı) construction of stations for the production of electricity from renewable energy sources; vııı) digging of water artesian wells, providing irrigation water to agricultural fields for the beneficial use of land, and building a collector-drainage system.
