Regional visit to Sheki-Zagatala economic region took place

In order to discuss projects of interest to investors in the format of Public-Private Partnership, and to inform local executive authorities about state support mechanisms in this field the delegation of the PPP Development Center of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency visited this time Sheki-Zagatala economic region.

Within the framework of the visit, on September 7-9, 2022, the Director of the PPP Development Center Anar Salmanov and the Head of the PPPDC's Department of Support for the Development and Implementation of PPP projects Hamlet Ismayilov held business meetings with the Head of the Gabala District Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, the Head of the Oguz District Executive Power Eyvaz Gurbanov, the Head of the Sheki City Executive Power Elkhan Usubov, the Head of the Gakh District Executive Power Musa Shakiliyev, the Head of the Zagatala District Executive Power Mubariz Ahmadzade and the Head of the Balaken District Executive Power Islam Rzayev.

Within the framework of the meetings there had been presented detailed information about the activities of the PPP Development Center and the PPP model, was emphasized the need to expand the application of PPP mechanisms as one of the important elements of the economic development strategy, also were discussed areas requiring investment in the format of Public-Private Partnership through out Sheki-Zagatala economic region.

The local executive authorities, in its turn, mentioned that information on priority projects in such fields as waste management and disposal, construction of recreation/tourism zones, creation of milk processing, fruit processing, tobacco farming, cocooning and sericulture enterprises will be presented.
