Virtual presentation was held by the Secretariat of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)

 

A virtual presentation was held by the UNECE Secretariat on September 27, 2022 in order to facilitate the dissemination and use of the UNECE Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Evaluation Methodology for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event, along with representatives of the relevant institutions of Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia and other countries, was also attended by representatives of the PPP Development Center (PPPDC) of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA). The Director of the PPPDC Anar Salmanov and the Head of the PPPDC's Department of Support for the Development and Implementation of PPP projects Hamlet Ismayilov, took part in the discussion of the topic of the virtual training and got acquainted with the presentations that demonstrated that the PPP model acts as an important tool in achieving the SDGs by mobilizing funds from the private sector. Overall, the Methodology can be one of the important tools in financing sustainable development, including infrastructure.

It should be noted that the PPPDC has become a member of the World Association of Public-Private Partnership Units and Professionals (WAPPP), one of the organizations specializing in PPP. WAPPP is an international NGO that brings together individuals and entities, operating or relating to the sphere of the partnership between the state and entrepreneurs, from different countries of the world.

The main goal of the association is to conduct awareness raising activities to provide quality services in the field of the partnership between the state and entrepreneurs, and to create and maintain an institutional network among institutions working in this area.
