International PPP Conference held in Bishkek
The delegation of the PPP Development Center of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan takes part in the International PPP Conference held in Bishkek on October 5-6, 2022, organized by the PPP Center of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The conference is organized with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and UNİCEF.
The conference will serve as a platform for the exchange of experience and discussion of the development and demonstration of the upcoming perspectives of PPP. More than 30 speakers, 200 participants take part in it, more than 8 thematic sessions and discussions are hold. The event is attended by representatives of the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic, foreign PPP agencies, international development partners, private companies and international experts in the field of PPP.
Today, on the first day of the forum, the delegations participating in the event, including the Director of the PPP Development Center Anar Salmanov and the senior project coordinator of the PPP Environment Improvement and Capacity Building Department - Rashid Salifov, got acquainted with the presentations of representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as well as the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), dedicated to improvement of the PPP environment, financing, experience in preparing PPP projects.
During the first day of the conference, the delegation of the PPP Development Center held a business meeting with the delegation of the PPP Center of the Kyrgyz Republic, where they exchanged views on the prospects for the development of PPP, on the best practices for applying the PPP mechanism in such key sectors of the economy as energy, transport, healthcare.
Also, the delegation of the PPP Development Center held a series of “on the go” meetings with the specialist in public administration of the Asian Development Bank - Yuji Miyaki, the director for PPP projects of the Eurasian Development Bank - Svetlana Maslova, the executive director of the Directorate for Transport and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Development Bank - Sergey Paseko, Head of UNECE Cooperation and Partnership Section - Tony Bonnici and UNECE Senior PPP Consultant - Tatiana Bessarab. During the meetings, an exchange of views took place on the plans and format of future cooperation.
